‘Don’t threaten me!’: Ray Hadley blows up after listener mistreated

Mark Levy

Ray Hadley has called out a service station business after a listener got in touch.

Listener Geoff contacted The Ray Hadley Morning Show after he unknowingly filled up his car with contaminated fuel at a petrol station in Sydney’s west earlier this month.

Later that day, his car wouldn’t start and it had to be towed to the local Mazda dealership, where it was confirmed the fuel was contaminated.

Geoff went back to the Metro Service Station at Londonderry, and they admitted the fuel was contaminated.

The attendant took down Geoff’s details and advised him head office would be in contact.

After a week of inaction, The Ray Hadley Morning Show contacted the Metro head office and Geoff received a promise of reimbursement for the damage done to his car.

Ray Hadley has received an email from Metro head office, threatening to take legal action against him in the Supreme Court.

“Don’t threaten me!” Ray warned.

Metro franchisees are independent and have no direct dealings with head office apart from using the Metro brand name.

Ray Hadley has commended the franchisee for attempting to rectify the issue as fast as possible.

The money was initially deposited into the wrong bank account, but the listener has since been reimbursed in full.
