‘Don’t come’ – Angus Taylor defends immigration crackdown
Angus Taylor has defended his Party’s immigration crackdown, telling Michael McLaren they want migrants who will assimilate to Australia’s values.
The Opposition leader has denied being against immigration from Islamic countries but says a Liberal government would discriminate based on their values.
“This is about weeding out people who simply don’t accept our way of life, don’t believe in it, and are doing what they can to overturn parts of it. They are not welcome in this country,” he said.
