Donald Trump predicted to announce presidential run despite midterm results

Joe Hildebrand

In the face of a disappointing midterm election result, Republicans are blaming Donald Trump, and Donald Trump is blaming Republicans.

The party had hyped a “red wave” putting them back into power in Washington and around the country.

The midterms have also shed light on the challenge he could face for the Republican nominations for the presidency, with Florida state governor  Ron DeSantis overwhelmingly re-elected.

Bruce Wolpe is a Senior Fellow at the United States Studies Centre in Sydney. He told Joe Hildebrand it’s more than likely Donald Trump will still announce his run for President.

“Donald Trump doesn’t retreat, no matter how much criticism he faces.

“I think it’s going to be a dramatic moment, he wants to avenge what happened to him in 2020.”
