A convicted paedophile has been granted bail for a second time after he was re-arrested at a pony club event in the state’s north-west while out on bail.

A jury earlier this month found Neil Duncan guilty of eight counts of sexually touching girls aged between 10 and 16 following a four-week trial in the Queanbeyan District Court.

One of the conditions on his bail was that the former pony club president was not to attend a pony club in his immediate area.

Instead, the 67-year-old attended a gymkhana at Narrabri Showgrounds over a two-day period.

He was arrested after police discovered he attended the event without a family member, in defiance of his bail conditions.

A second judge granted him bail with the restriction he is not to attend any pony club.

“Revoke his bail immediately!” Ray said.

Ray is calling on the Attorney-General to act faster after he took a week to instruct a review of the original bail decision.

“Do your bloody job or be consigned to the waste paper basket of politics in 2023!”
