The NRL concedes the wrong decision was made by the bunker at the end of the Wests Tigers game in Townsville.

The league insists the captain’s challenge from North Queensland was allowable under the circumstances.

Head of Football Graham Annesley said in a press conference today the perceived escort infringement didn’t warrant a penalty.

Wests Tigers Chairman Lee Hagipantelis told Jim Wilson the club will go as “far as necessary” legally.

“We legitimately believe that there is a grievance there that needs to be explored.”
