New documents suggest NSW was not sending the best available person to New York for the Trade Commissioner’s role.

A draft report in February, when Mr Barilaro was first interviewed, found the former deputy premier wasn’t the best candidate for the job.

But the final report, tabled the day after Mr Barilaro got the job, justified the appointment.

“This is disgraceful!” Ray Hadley said.
