‘Despicable act’ – Mal Lanyon denies organised crime out of control
Police Commissioner Mal Lanyon has denied that the NSW Police Force is not in control after a surge in gangland shootings in Sydney.
Speaking to Clinton Maynard on Sydney Now, Mr Lanyon says the force is committed to reducing organised crime.
“There’s little doubt it’s a challenging environment, we are seeing organised crime as a service, so we’re seeing people contacted online … as opposed to where it used to be as a complete syndicate,” he said.
He’s also called out the disrespect towards the community from the alleged offenders, and confirmed that police are looking for the organisers of the attacks.
