Michael McLaren has applauded an essay written by Louise Clegg, which has criticised blaming private schools for the alleged actions of their students.

McLaren says that, by deflecting the blame from the students and parents and onto the school, it’s indicative of society’s “propensity” to deflect blame.

“The fact of the matter is money doesn’t buy manners, and it doesn’t automatically raise well-adjusted children,” he said.

“I think somewhere along the way, many of us lost the art of personal agency and owning our actions,” he added.
