There are four action points set after the dating app roundtable.

Communications Minister Michelle Rowland told Deborah Knight there were four key takeaways from the meeting.

There will be an emphasis on the prevention of exploiting online dating services by perpetrators, supporting the users who experience harm and empowering users with safe online dating practices, and a greater use of technology to prevent harm from occurring online.

Ms Rowland told Deb that this is the first “big step” in changing online dating safety procedures.

When pressed for a timeline on when these actions would come into effect, the Minister was unable to answer.
