Australians will head to the polls on May 21 after the Prime Minister called the federal election this morning.

Scott Morrison met with the Governor-General in Government House after weeks of speculation.

Mr Morrison will go head-to-head with Labor leader Anthony Albanese as the six-week campaign period gets underway.
