Four-time Olympic cyclist Anna Meares has been appointed Australia’s Chef de Mission for the 2024 Games in Paris.

In the lead-up to Paris, Meares will head to Europe next year to inspect the new Olympic village and meet with the International Olympic Committee.

Anna Meares told Deborah Knight she is very excited about the role, and can bring her past skills and experience to lead Australia to a successful Olympics.

“I have won and lost on the biggest stage, so I can bring that perspective to the team.”
