Culture specific support introduced to help mental health sufferers
A lack of culturally-specific support services is being partly blamed for some suburbs being over-represented in the suicide rate.
The city’s southwest had the most youth suicides in New South Wales last year.
Minister for Multiculturalism Mark Coure told John Stanley, the government has launched a helpline to give people the support they need.
“People will be able to speak with a mental health professional that they are more comfortable with.”
