Crime Stoppers warning to the public as huge scam cost revealed

Fresh data shows an average of $41m has been lost to scammers in Australia every MONTH this year.

New South Wales Police, the Tax Office, and the Communications regulator are teaming up for a new campaign, urging people to take care and be wary of any suspicious activity.

Phone calls reportedly account for half of all reported scam activity.

Crime Stoppers NSW CEO Peter Price told Jim Wilson Aussies need to remain vigilant and alert.

“These scams are getting so sophisticated.”
