Former Socceroo and activist Craig Foster spoke with joy at what the Matildas have been capable of doing at this World Cup, with him praising the side as role models.

Foster said the team, skippered by Sam Kerr, had fought so hard that they deserve any and all recognition they get for how they managed to get where they are.

“Everything they’ve done, the way they’ve had to fight to get here, to fight for their own conditions, for equal pay… it’s just marvelous”, Foster remarked to Chris O’Keefe.
