Concert for a cause: Six-time Golden Guitar winner doing his bit for the drought

Country music and the bush are linked like salt and pepper, which is why it’s no surprise Australia’s top musicians are pitching in for our farmers.

Back to back Male Artist of the Year Travis Collins is throwing a concert tonight, raising money for the Buy A Bale drought appeal.

He joins Ray Hadley in the studio ahead of tonight’s sold out show at Cessnock Leagues Club.

The Hunter Valley local says he had no choice but to give back to his local community.

“I love that town mate and I love the community.

“It’s not a huge huge reflection on my name the fact that this sold out, it’s a reflection on the cause, it’s a reflection on the community.

“I’ve just supplied the bucket, they’re going to fill it up.”

Tomorrow, Travis will release his sixth studio album, Brave & the Broken.

He performed the first single off the album, High Horse.
