Concerns over possible service cuts on Sydney Trains

New South Wales Transport Minister, Jo Haylen, has released a report on Sydney Trains’ performance, sparking concerns about potential service cuts.

The report, which was released in a media lockup, highlights a decline in on-time running since the 2017 timetable was introduced.

It also points to a significant maintenance backlog and suggests the current timetable is too tight to handle incidents or problems on the network.

Jo Haylen told Chris that service cuts were not the plan, but did state that “doing what we’re [currently] doing isn’t an option.”
