Scott Morrison is backing a bill that allows sporting groups to exclude transgender people from single-sex sports.

Tasmanian senator Claire Chandler has put forward a private member’s bill to amend the Sex Discrimination Act.

Ben Fordham says it’s a “sensible stance”.

“Thankfully there are some people who put common sense before political correctness.”

Ben says transgender people have an unfair advantage in sport.

“Transgender swimmers have swamped the field at the American college swimming championships. They won every women’s freestyle race.”
