NSW Deputy Liberal Leader Stuart Ayres is continuing to call for the Warragamba Dam wall to be raised as it spills.

The Warragamba Dam is currently spilling over and will continue to for the next few weeks as wild weather continues.

Mr Ayres told Jim Wilson he thinks the water needs to be let free.

“Once it is at full capacity…you’ve got to let that water flow through the gates.

“If that water doesn’t get out to the ocean… you’ll actually increase the peak of the flood not decrease it.”

“People really don’t recognise how long it takes for the water to make its way to the ocean.”
