‘Come back later’ – Elderly man details appalling treatment by big four bank
An elderly man has detailed the appalling treatment he experienced while attempting to deposit money at a bank in Newtown.
Sid told Clinton Maynard that, after previous bad experiences with trying to deposit money via an ATM, he just wanted help from a bank teller.
“He said to me ‘Can you please come back in 20 to 30 minutes, I’m busy’ … I went to put the money in the ATM, and what do you think happened? I took the money, please contact the bank,” he said
He then told Clinton Maynard he went to the next closest bank in Marrickville in order to get help.
What followed was a back-and-forth with NAB’s customer service.
