Panthers CEO Brian Fletcher and Eels legend Peter Wynn have engaged in some friendly banter before their club’s do battle for the season’s ultimate prize on Sunday.

Penrith have the chance to etch themselves into Rugby League folklore by becoming the first club ever to claim four Grand Final victories in the one season.

“That would be fantastic,” Mr Fletcher told Jim Wilson on 2GB Drive.

“To create history for the club, and for all the coaches the players, and everybody involved, the chairman and the board.

“That would be something very special.”

Meanwhile, for the Eels the chance to break the longest Premiership drought in the league beckons.

“36 years Jimmy – it’s a long time isn’t it,” Peter Wynn, who played in the Eels last premiership in 1986, said on 2GB Drive.

“The memories are still so fresh in my mind just seeing what it means to the fans, what it meant to the club itself, and obviously what it meant to the players.”
