‘Clear and simple’: The Voice referendum question gets mixed reactions

Article image for ‘Clear and simple’: The Voice referendum question gets mixed reactions

‘From the Heart’ Director Dean Parkin and National Party Leader David Littleproud share their different reactions to the Voice referendum question.

The Voice is a body that will provide independent advice to Parliament and Government, concerning Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

“The question gets us a step closer to the success of the referendum, I think it’s very clear and simple for the Australian public,” Mr Parkin told Chris.

“What’s fundamentally important this time is that we aren’t asking the politicians, we’re asking the Australian people.”

Dissimilarly, Mr Littleproud believes that “history will repeat itself” if the referendum in passed.

“If this is how they want to close the gap, another layer of bureaucracy won’t do it,” he said.
