Liberal Councilor Jordan Lane has become the youngest mayor in the City of Ryde’s history. 

Winning the position by a majority of votes, the appointment points towards a cooling of tensions between the Coalition and the local council.

The 27-year-old aims to represent a growing number of young professionals and has already made clear his intentions for the City of Ryde.

“I want to contribute to my community,” Mayor Lane told Deborah Knight.

“I lead the most diverse team in the City of Ryde’s history.”
