Legendary trainer Chris Waller is celebrating after champion sprinter Nature Strip obliterated the field in the King’s Stand Stakes at Royal Ascot.

The James McDonald jockeyed gelding crossed the line four and a half lengths in front of a world-class pack.

Rated as the world’s best sprinter, Waller told Ray Hadley how the win cements his top status.

“Ratings are only calculations, until you actually do it on the big stage it’s unproven.”

The horse travelled for 40 hours, drinking 60 litres of water on his epic journey to the iconic track.

“We just kept the horse in good shape and respected how good he actually is,” Waller said.

“We wanted him to carry the flags of Australia and New Zealand and he’s certainly done that.”
