On his last afternoon in the chair, Chris Kenny checks in with resident afternoons host Chris Smith.

Holidaying at Myall Lakes National Park with a beer in hand, Smith says, “I’m looking forward to the year and I’m looking forward to Monday”.

Smith tells Kenny all the usual suspects will be back in full swing, but The Deplorables will be coming back “almost reincarnated”.

On his mother’s passing, Smith says grief is a funny thing.

“Mum was always pretty proud of what I do at 2GB and I’ve got that in mind and that’s something I can rely on too.”
