Chris Smith has slammed a Hillsong youth summer camp over a “double standard”.

Health Minister Brad Hazzard declared he was “horrified” at videos posted to social media showing hundreds of teenagers singing and dancing during a rock-style evening worship service at Newcastle.

Current COVID restrictions have banned singing and dancing in hospitality venues, entertainment facilities, and major recreation sites.

Hillsong has denied the event was in breach of public health orders.

“It isn’t a good look for Hillsong and they’ve got to fall in line with the rest of us.”
