Chris Minns’ plan to kickstart local manufacturing
NSW Opposition leader Chris Minns has announced a plan to kickstart local manufacturing.
Recent troubles with Spanish trams, Indonesian ferries that don’t fit under bridges and Korean trains the Union won’t drive has seen the Opposition leader call for 50 per cent of items to be made in NSW.
NSW has lost 42,000 local manufacturing jobs over the last decade
Mr Minns told Ben Fordham the plan will formulate over time.
“This is over the course of the next parliament, we can’t do it immediately,” he said.
“Because of the last ten years, they’re offshoring so much of that transport infrastructure to other countries.
“We have to build up the capacity in New South Wales.”
Mr Minns also discussed his plan for toll relief.
