The State opposition leader says he can’t rule out extending the life of Australia’s largest coal plant.

There have been growing concerns closing the Eraring power station in the Hunter, which accounts for 20 per cent of the state’s electricity needs, could exacerbate a volatile energy market.

Chris Minns has told Ben Fordham he’d look to step in and negotiate with the provider to maintain baseload power.
