China kicks own goal as Australian cotton finds a way to thrive

One of Australia’s biggest agricultural industries has found a way to succeed in the face of China’s ban.
The cotton industry generates $4.5 billion worth of export income.
Cotton Australia CEO Adam Kay told Deborah Knight the Chinese market dried up overnight but they’ve now found other markets such as Vietnam, Indonesia and Turkey.
“The spinning mills in China were on the phone, they were devastated.
“China’s kicked an own goal with this because we’ve found other markets and these new markets are loving the quality of Australian cotton.”
