Children’s charity feeling the burn this weekend

Families, corporations and Wallaby great Phil Kearns will be taking on the Balmoral Burn this weekend.

The charity race is entering it’s 18th year, raising money to buy life-saving children’s medical equipment for hospitals Australia-wide.

The Burn – this Sunday, May 27 – tackles the 420-metre climb up Awaba Street in Mosman.

Last year, $2.6 million was raised, funding 150 pieces of medical equipment.

Founder and Executive Chairman of the Humpty Dumpty Foundation Paul Francis OAM tells Alan Jones the foundation has grown well beyond expectations.

“It’s not up to the state government to supply everything. They simply can’t afford to, so this is where the community comes together.”

Francis started up the foundation after Rugby international and commentator Phil Kearns approached him, looking for a way to thank Royal North Shore Hospital for treating his son.
