Communities in the south west are in a state of shock after five teenagers were killed in a horrific car crash at Buxton in the Macarthur Region.

Three girls and two boys, aged between 14 and 16.

The ute they were passengers in lost control and crashed into a tree and the 18-year-old driver was the only survivor.

Deputy Secretary at the Department of Education Murat Dizdar told Jim Wilson there will be continuous counseling for staff, students and families.

Leading Child Psychologist Dr Rose Cantali told Jim it’s crucial parents are there for all children in the local community.

“It’s so important that the parents discuss this with children.”
