Child psychologists say our kids are facing unprecedented levels of stress due to ‘climate anxiety’.

With thousands of school and university students participating in the School Strike 4 Climate all over the country today, psychologists say they are concerned young children are incredibly fearful about their future due to the rhetoric around climate change.

Sydney-based child psychologist Claire tells Steve Price and Rita Panahi what these kids are being exposed to is “just awful”.

“The referrals for me generally for child anxiety are through the roof.

“We live in an age where we know more about parenting than ever before but we have the most anxious, depressed, struggling kids than any other time in history.

“But what concerns me is I’m getting preschoolers who know about climate change… it’s just disgusting, I can’t help these kids.”
