‘Care and consideration’ – Surf Life Saving CEO on the impact record drownings has had
March saw the highest number of drownings in New South Wales ever on record, with 12 drownings recorded.
CEO of Surf Life Saving New South Wales, Steve Pearce has told Bill Woods, filling in for Michael McLaren, that the impact has been great on their members.
“They too need just as much care and consideration, support as we do … we’ve got a really great psychological wellbeing program, and we did this when we … formally became an emergency service,” he said.
