Lane Cove Council on Sydney’s north shore is considering a ‘car-free day’ amid concerns about carbon emissions.

President of Lance Cove Sustainability action group Sjirk Bangma told John Stanley it’s “doable” within the CBD.

“The Council at the last meeting has accepted the motion … to have a workshop in February where they’ll investigate how far this idea will go,” he said.

“Lane Cove is ideally quiet in the sense because it can quite easily be detoured.”
