Campaign shines a light on the struggles of modern-day veterans

A new campaign has been launched to support modern-day veterans in the lead up to ANZAC Day.

The #InTheirHonour campaign aims to shine a light on the struggles of today’s veterans, so they don’t suffer the same hardships as the soldiers who have gone before them.

It was launched by Soldier On, a community-based organisation that supports returned service personnel and their families.

CEO Mat Jones is a veteran himself, having served in the army for 13 years.

He tells Alan Jones he became involved because he wanted to help other veterans who were struggling to transition back into normal life.

“I wanted to stop admiring the problem and become part of the solution.

“A lot of men and woman around this country are still dealing with the issues that they encountered during their service, and that’s what our ‘In Their Honour’ campaign is about.”
