The push to put CCTV cameras in nursing homes is increasing.

Anita Volkert from Occupational Therapy Australia has backed the call, saying abuse of the elderly is a “real and ongoing” problem.

Ms Volkert tells Ben Fordham cameras wouldn’t be in place to trap nursing home staff.

“If you go about your work in a responsible manner, you should have nothing to fear.”

Ben says CCTV could become a selling point for facilities that adopt it.
