Calls to close nudist beach over sex pest fears
There are calls to shut down a nudist beach on the New South Wales north coast, following reports of inappropriate behaviour.
Tyagarah Beach, located 20 minutes out of Byron Bay, is clothing optional.
Locals fear sexual predators and creeps are being attracted to the area.
Calls to close the beach have increased after a man was charged for an indecent act last week.
Byron Bay Labor Councillor Paul Spooner tells Ben Fordham it’s time to close the nudist beach.
“We have people from outside the area who are using the nude declaration on the beach as a cover for hooking up and doing things that we don’t want to see happening on a family-friendly beach.
“It’s time to close it, admit we can’t manage this out.”
