The hospitality sector is facing crisis-level staff shortages due to the current covid wave and a lack of skilled workers.

Hospitality businesses are taking extreme measures like emailing customer databases and even using billboards in an effort to find workers.

CEO of Restaurant & Catering Australia Belinda Clarke joined Jim Wilson on Drive to explain the how the crisis has occurred and some possible solutions.

“It is a massive issue for an entire industry,” she said.

“We need a skilled workforce back in the country and we need them now.

“We need [visa] applications to be processed faster, we need the red tape lifted.”
