Cabinet documents which were revealed by the ABC have caused chaos, with claims it’s the nation’s biggest security breach in recent years.

The documents, which were to remain under lock and key for 20 years, were found in a cabinet after it was bought from a second-hand shop in Canberra.

Ross Greenwood speaks with Head of ANU Security College Professor Rory Medcalf.

“In this age of international uncertainty, Australia can simply not afford to have any vulnerabilities in this regard.

“The question is, is this a systemic problem, or is it just an extraordinarily bad stuff up?

“Either way, we’ve got a problem.”
