Byron Bay locals are hopeful Bluesfest will be held for the first time since the pandemic began.

The popular event was postponed for the Easter long weekend.

Destination Byron President Mick Webb told Deborah Knight “everybody’s really gunning for it to go ahead” despite recent flooding in the area.

“I imagine there’d be quite a bit of water out at the site, but if we can hopefully see the back of the catastrophic weather events everything should be OK to go ahead.”
