Busy off-season gives Marcus Harris an edge heading into Ashes series

Opening batsman Marcus Harris has guaranteed his match fitness ahead of the first Test of the Ashes series.

Despite the recent poor weather on the east coast forcing training indoors, Harris told Mark Levy and Candice Warner he’s well-prepared – particularly after an off-season playing County cricket in England.

“Where some people haven’t played a whole lot of red ball cricket in the last 12 months, I’ve actually been able to play quite a lot, so I think that’s probably been beneficial.

“Myself and … Dave, we’ve been working hard … ever since that series over there, so hopefully we can get one back on them.”
