Bushfire report: Opportunity ‘seized to rip off ‘ people in crisis

The state government is being asked to explain its handling of a bushfire grants program which saw money diverted away from Labor-held seats.
The Auditor-General has found the office of former deputy premier John Barilaro intervened in the 100-million dollar program launched to help those recovering from deadly Black Summer Bushfires.
NSW Member for Blue Mountains Trish Doyle told Deborah Knight the actions are “senseless”.
“Instead an opportunity was seized to rip off people in crisis.”
