Cars are set to be banned on Friday and Saturdays in Bay Street due to hoons.

Brighton Le Sands business owners have suffered from burnouts and drivers smoking up the precinct.

Bay Street Brighton is now going to undergo a trial where cars will be banned and it will be turned into a boulevard for pedestrians only.

Oscars Hotels owner Michael Anagnoustou told Chirs O’Keefe the trial is welcomed.

Member for Rockdale Steve Kamper said the trial is in place to bring more customers into the area.
