WA Premier Mark McGowan has announced that the state’s hard border will end at 12:01 am on March 3rd allowing quarantine free travel.

Interstate travellers, if eligible must be triple vaccinated and take a RAT test within 12 hours of arrival.

International arrivals are subject to the Commonwealth Government’s biosecurity and border requirements.

They must complete a G2G pass prior to entry into WA and take a RAT within 12 hours of arrival.

Unvaccinated returning Australians must undergo 7 days hotel quarantine.

In a press conference, this afternoon the Premier has said the COVID situation has improved and “the virus is already here, and we cannot stop its spread”.

6PR Drive Host Oliver Peterson has provided immediate reactions to Mark McGowan Western Australia’s border announcement.

He told Jim Wilson, “We’re finally rejoining the rest of the world”.

“I can wait!”

“The fact that it had to be drip faired over the last four weeks is a complete and utter disgrace.”

Having the chance to introduce his son to his grandparents Oliver said, “It means the world”.
