The RBA has increased the official cash rate by 25 basis points.

Scott Phillips from Motley Fool has told Michael McLaren the cash hike has been blamed on the conflict in the Middle East and the ongoing fuel crisis.

“I think they’re trying to do the right thing by home borrowers. They’re trying to be kind,” he said.

He also notes the statement released by the RBA had included something unusual.
