CONFIRMED: Dugald Saunders has successfully challenged for the leadership of the NSW Nationals, ousting Paul Toole to become the Deputy Opposition Leader.

Ray Hadley exclusively revealed that the NSW Nationals would have a leadership spill this morning on 2GB, with the Dubbo representative taking on the new position.

Nationals MPs encouraged Paul Toole to stand aside, after reports on his clashing views as to whether Ben Franklin should consider taking on the role of Upper House president.

“They can’t have Paul Toole leading the Nationals in New South Wales, given that he’s now been confirmed as a liar,” said Ray Hadley.
