Masks will no longer be compulsory for school students from the end of February.

Cohorting requirements and activity restrictions will also be relaxed, enabling students to engage and interact more freely across classes and year groups.

Primary school teachers will have to wear masks until March 7.

NSW Education Minister Sarah Mitchell told Deborah Knight it’s a sensible move backed by health advice.

“If we’re not seeing masks in other settings it’s time to see them out of school as well.”
