Former Footballer Jarryd Hayne has had his convictions for sexually assaulting a woman reversed on appeal.

Today The Court of Criminal Appeal ordered the convictions be quashed, with Hayne to face a re-trial.

2GB Court Reporter Gil Taylor told Ray Hadley the re-trial is mandatory and “entirely in the hands of the Crown”.

“There was jury directions that were allegedly flawed.

“There are a lot of technicalities that involve outcomes.”

Hayne will face the District Court for directions on February 18.
