Former Treasurer Dominic Perrottet has been voted in as the Premier of NSW, and sworn in by NSW Governor Margaret Beazley at Government House.

The Liberal party room voted between Mr Perrottet and Planning Minister Rob Stokes to replace Gladys Berejiklian.

Mr Perrottet claimed the title of Premier, 39 votes to 5.

Stuart Ayres has been nominated as the Deputy while Matt Kean will take over as Treasurer.

Addressing the media, the new Premier paid tribute to his predecessor, and committed to keeping the roadmap out of lockdown on track.

“Up until now, all of our Liberal premiers have been infrastructure premiers, building roads, rail, schools and hospitals.

“That will not change with me, but I will also be a family Premier, focusing on how we can make life better for working families living the Liberal values of opportunity, aspiration and hard work.”

He confirmed Brad Hazzard will remain Health Minister, and said there won’t be a cabinet reshuffle “until we’re through this challenge”.

Tomorrow, the Nationals are set to vote on a replacement for John Barilaro.
