Braith Anasta adds voice to push for mental health round in NRL
The death of premiership-winning rugby league coach Paul Green has prompted a push for NRL to introduce a mental health round next season.
Former player Braith Anasta believes it’s an important opportunity for the NRL to put an “emphasis” on mental health.
He told Mark Levy it would encourage those who suffer from mental illness to reach out and seek help.
Losing his own father at the age of 15, Braith Anasta had a message for anyone battling mental health troubles.
“There is light at the end of the tunnel if you seek help,” he said.
“Life gets better, … you’ve just got to reach out, get the right help from the people around you and you’ll be fine.”
