Ben Fordham believes Lidia Thorpe has “done the right thing” by quitting the Greens.

“On a crucial issue impacting Indigenous Australians, she was being told what to think, what to say and what to do, the orders were coming from her non-Indigenous leader Adam Bandt,” Ben said.

“Mr Bandt was telling this Indigenous woman she should ‘toe the party line’ and support the Voice to Parliament, If she didn’t, she’d be silenced as the Greens spokesperson on Indigenous Affairs and Mr Bandt would speak for her.

“He wanted to gag her. Her voice didn’t fit the narrative, so she stood up for herself and walked.”
